Unity has an opposite.
Unity needs Separation to define itself as distinctly different, much like cold must exist to experience and know hot in contrast.

Unity Separation
- Connection Severance
- Radiation Vampirism
- Manifestation Destruction
- Flow Obstruction
Most of this thought experiment derived from a minor annoyance with the ego that sometimes can be found puffed up within circles of awakened peoples touting unity as a form of elitism, and finding the ultimate state of being not unlike that of a religious elder proud of their status in spiritual community. As I thought about these distinctions, I wondered to myself if I was merely finding the opposition existing in our limited language, or if I was really onto something? Is one really closer to what we call God than the other?
I delved into the semantics further; Unity is a word that most would agree is synonymous with "Love", and quite the contrary on the other side of the spectrum, Separation is to "Fear". The ultimate dichotomy. Each feeding into the other in a constant swirl, needing the other to stay relevantly contrary. In our physical/emotional reality they are existing simultaneously in a beautiful phenomenon where they are both being observed depending on your lens. Just as a microscope can zoom in and out upon a cell to see 1 single cell, or the teaming community of even smaller micro-organisms. 1 and many are the exact same thing.
Using the Triangle as a geometric map - there is Unity (at the bottom left corner), and there is Separation (at the bottom right corner), but what of the third point at the top? I asked myself, " How can I be with and without something at the same time?" ... Choice. Choice tops the Pylon. Being in the perfect space of opportunity, experiencing both until one is favored. Exercising choice is to shape your reality, is to exercise the will of God/Self. The pinnacle where both possibilities exist simultaneously until your choice to focus on one or the other shapes your perceptions.
The path of enlightenment is often described as not being charged with any bias. I believe that noticing the higher dichotomies coexisting can be achieved rather easily just by learning to change your frame of reference. Knowing this has made it easier for me to understand this place of being without bias toward one "right" or "wrong" reality. God/Self is Unity, is Separation. We see it everywhere... In our biology, our observable universe, mathematics, art, etc... That is why "I AM myself, distinctly different, and I AM one with the universe." What is your name? Your reply, "I am.." - stop! - me too. "I AM" what I choose to be, experience, live, explore. For the moment, or for eternity. the choice is mine, as it is yours. there's my difference. My mask to wear for "the play". But under the mask we share the same name. I AM. Our consciousness.
I'll conclude my musings with a favorite visualization and saying of mine, the source I cannot remember.
If you take a droplette of water from the ocean, when does it cease being the ocean?
